Britain’s festival community burns millions of litres of diesel annually - just to make electricity
Grid Faeries are here to change this, to show there is another way and to help make that happen. Our mission is to end the use of diesel at festivals and outdoor events.
We do this by providing battery power in the short term - an onsite source of clean electricity. In tandem we investigate the installation of permanent grid connections and provide funded solutions to make that happen. Most festivals and events are annual occurrences, it doesn’t make sense to keep bringing temporary power generators to the same site year in and year out.
The third limb of our work is to look to build new green energy generation projects adjacent to festival and event sites - to help cover the cost of bringing in the grid and to directly generate the power needed by the event itself.
In this way we can take fossil fuels out of live events, we can ditch the diesel.
This year Grid Faeries x Ecotricity have powered the Arcadia Dragonfly stage at Glastonbury, the Charlie Gillett stage at WOMAD and Massive Attack’s stage on Clifton Downs, Bristol.
